In an effort to provide you with a more complete understanding of all that Honda Sensing® has to offer, Germain Honda of Surprise has created this helpful reference guide. You’ll learn all about the key features of Honda Sensing® along with their availability by model.
What is Honda Sensing®?
Using inspiration from the Honda goal of living in a zero collision society, the groundbreaking collection of safety and driver-assistive technologies available on a wide range of Honda vehicles* is known as Honda Sensing®. The primary objective of these functions is to provide a helpful alert to drivers when they may be in danger behind the wheel. You’ll learn all about the various features available within Honda Sensing® once we cover them in greater detail below.
Collision Mitigation Braking Systemâ„¢ (CMBSâ„¢)
If the system detects that a collision is imminent, CMBS will automatically apply brake pressure in an effort to minimize the severity of the impact. It’s an extra line of defense against sudden obstacles that you don’t have time to avoid.
Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)
Should you attempt to change lanes without signaling, RDM will adjust steering and braking automatically once you cross over detected lane markings.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Great for taking the stress and tension out of long stretches of highway travel, ACC works by automatically maintaining a fixed following distance relative to the vehicle in front of you.
Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
In an effort to keep your vehicle positioned safely within your intended lane, LKAS can provide subtle steering corrections if you begin to wander out of your lane.
Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)
Using a small specialized camera, TSR has the ability to recognize traffic signs to alert the driver of posted speed limits as they drive.
Blind Spot Information System
If you’ve indicated a lane change with a signal and there’s another vehicle traveling within the next lane, you’ll get an audible and visual alert before you attempt the lane change.
Cross Traffic Monitor
Once the Multi-Angle Rearview Camera activates after shifting into reverse, the driver will be notified of any detected vehicle approaching on either side through a collection of beeps and visual indications.
Auto High-Beam Headlights
Driving at night at speeds above 25 MPH, the headlight switch set to AUTO in the low-beam position can automatically toggle between low and high beams depending on the surrounding conditions.
